About The Position

Volunteers of America, Utah is hiring a PRN Registered Nurse for its 20-bed psychiatric subacute facility at Creekside Stabilization Center. The facility provides 24-hour, medically monitored care for adults transitioning from psychiatric hospital or state hospital stays, or stepping up from outpatient care. Some patients require detox support; all admissions are voluntary, and the expected length of stay is about five days. Working with the team APRN, the nurse manages medications, monitors for medical complications, and helps patients stabilize for transition to a less restrictive level of care. The Registered Nurse works with the team APRN to organize and manage medication administration, deliver medication and medical services, and provide treatment, rehabilitation, and support services. The role is PRN and part-time, with 12-hour shifts; weekend overnight shifts are preferred. Nurses must also be available to cover shifts when a staff member calls out or does not show up and alternate coverage cannot be found. Based on current staffing, on-call assignments are expected to be about five to six days per month. On-call pay is $3 per hour for each on-call hour, and hours worked when called in are paid at the regular rate. Night shifts receive an additional $2 per hour.
