About The Position

Wapello Specialty Care, a 46-bed long-term care skilled nursing community in Wapello, Iowa, is hiring a part-time Registered Nurse for the 10 PM–6 AM shift. The RN provides compassionate direct nursing care to residents, supports clinical operations, and helps maintain resident safety and quality of care. The role includes administering medications and treatments, monitoring residents and responding to changes in condition, communicating with residents and families, collaborating with interdisciplinary care team members, and documenting care in accordance with clinical, regulatory, and facility standards. The RN must follow infection-control, safety, and compliance protocols. Care Initiatives describes its care team as serving more than 40 skilled nursing communities throughout Iowa and emphasizes empathetic, respectful care and an inclusive workplace.

Requirements

• Valid RN license in good standing, valid in Iowa or able to be activated in Iowa.
• Current, valid CPR certification.
• Knowledge of federal and state long-term care regulations and laws.
• Commitment to helping others and treating them with empathy, respect, patience, and discretion.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct, compassionate nursing care to residents in a skilled nursing environment.
• Support daily clinical operations on the unit, ensuring quality care and resident safety.
• Administer medications and treatments accurately and on time.
• Monitor resident conditions and respond promptly to changes in status.
• Collaborate with CNA, LPN, provider, and other interdisciplinary team members to promote teamwork and high-quality care.
• Communicate effectively with residents and families regarding care needs.
• Document care accurately to meet clinical, regulatory, and facility standards.
• Follow infection control, safety, and compliance protocols at all times.
