Registered Nurse - Pediatric Emergency Department
About The Position
The Registered Nurse in the Pediatric Emergency Department leads the coordination and delivery of quality, compassionate patient care. The nurse uses the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care, supporting patients and families and collaborating with the healthcare team to meet patient goals. The department is part of Henry Ford St. John Hospital’s 100-bed Emergency Department, which includes Adult Emergency (75 beds), Pediatric Emergency (13 beds), and the Behavioral Health Observation Annex (12 beds). The fast-paced unit includes Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses, ER Techs, and Paramedics. It encourages participation in planning meetings, shared governance, and educational development, and provides training to help candidates succeed. This is a full-time, benefit-eligible position scheduled for 36 hours per week on the night shift, from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, working three 12-hour shifts per week. The schedule rotates every other weekend and observed holiday. A $7,500 sign-on bonus is offered.
Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
- Current licensure by the Michigan State Board of Nursing.
- Health care provider certification (BCLS).
- Clinical knowledge and analytical abilities to formulate effective nursing care plans.
- Ability to perform a wide variety of professional nursing services.
- Effective communication skills with patients, families, and hospital personnel.

- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
