About The Position

The Registered Nurse is accountable for delivering professional nursing care in an inpatient hospital setting through use of the nursing process. The RN applies competent clinical knowledge and skills, exercises independent nursing judgment, and is accountable for care provided by themselves and by healthcare providers to whom care is delegated, with the goal of achieving quality patient outcomes. The RN demonstrates advanced-beginner-level knowledge and skills to provide care relevant to patients and applies principles of growth and development across the lifespan. The role requires assessing and interpreting patient data to identify age-specific care needs. The position is based at Uniontown Hospital in the Nursing Emergency Services cost center, with 4 scheduled weekly hours.

Requirements

Current Registered Nurse license issued by the state where services are provided, or a current multistate Registered Nurse license through the enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC).
Obtain Basic Life Support certification within 30 days of hire.
One year of nursing experience.
Interpersonal skills to communicate positively and effectively, negotiate, and resolve conflict.
Competent clinical practice and critical-thinking skills to deliver patient care efficiently while using resources effectively.
Flexibility in response to changes in work volume, staffing, and schedules.
Ability to work under highly stressful conditions and adapt to varying workloads and work assignments.
Meet the role’s physical requirements, including lifting, moving, stooping, reaching, standing, walking, and carrying materials or equipment weighing 40 pounds or more; patient transfers, lifts, and repositioning use indicated lift equipment or other aids.
Visual acuity and hearing within normal range.

Responsibilities

Modify patients’ plans of care based on collected data and individual needs.
