About The Position

The competent Nurse practices independently in the same or a similar clinical setting and demonstrates awareness of relevant aspects of the situation. Provides routine and complex care, with the ability to work on long-range goals or plans. Continues to develop the ability to cope with and manage clinical contingencies. Makes appropriate assignments and delegates to other care providers to help manage the clinical situation.

Meets expectations of the applicable OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders. Consistent with the ANA Scope and Standards of Practice, provides nursing care using the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients. Addresses increasingly complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families in accordance with the nurse’s level of practice. Administers medications and treatments using the appropriate protocol, and monitors for side effects and treatment effectiveness. Documents patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided. Assesses learning needs and educates patients, family members, and/or caregivers; identifies issues and resources.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing preferred.
• One year of experience in the related nursing specialty preferred.
• BLS certification required.
• RN license in the state of employment or a compact RN license.
