About The Position

The Registered Nurse provides and coordinates patient care, educates patients and the public about various health conditions, and provides advice and emotional support to patients and their families. Collaborates with doctors and other healthcare professionals to plan, manage, and assess patient care. Administers medications and treatments, performs diagnostic tests, and helps with patient rehabilitation. Ensures patients' medical records are accurate and up-to-date, and follows all relevant regulations and protocols. Works in various healthcare settings, such as hospitals, clinics, and nursing homes, to promote and maintain patients' health.

Requirements

  • Baccalaureate Degree, ADN, or Diploma: RN Degree.
  • 1 year RN experience with current BLS certification.
  • Valid Arkansas Registered Nursing License.
  • Proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
  • Knowledge or experience in PCMH desired.
  • ACLS certification or obtain certification within one year of hire date.

Responsibilities

  • Implements Plan of Care (POC) using an approach that is interdisciplinary and patient and family-centered.
  • Effectively collaborates and communicates with nursing staff at all levels, interdisciplinary teams, executive leaders, and other stakeholders.
  • Communicates care appropriately through documentation in the medical record.
  • Reports variances in care/ systems/ processes through the appropriate means.
  • Systematically evaluates the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice.
  • Supports the integration of current evidence into nursing practices.
  • Promotes an environment conducive to positive educational experience for all students and staff.
  • Provides effective patient/family education/discharge planning.
  • Acts as a resource/support to others in the performance of duties.
  • Demonstrates a commitment to the personal and professional development of other UAMS employees.
  • Participates in recruitment/retention of staff.
  • Facilitates development and implementation of nursing practice standards that are evidence-based and in compliance with ANA standards.
  • Delegates care based on UAMS standards, legal and regulatory requirements, specific job descriptions, scope of practice and individual level of education and training.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
