About The Position

Join Baylor Scott and White Medical Center - Irving as a Registered Nurse and be part of something better! Our Progressive Care Unit (PCU) is a fast-paced environment that includes high acuity patients. We are looking for nurses who are looking to increase their knowledge base. Our PCU leadership team fosters an environment that supports learning, mentoring, and building every team member. The PCU patient population includes Medical/Cardiac patients with conditions such as Sepsis, Post Ablation, Insulin Drips, Cardiac Drips, COVID, Acute Cardiac and Neuro Admitting Patients. The unit has 22 beds and a patient ratio of 1:4. Our unit is team-centered, positive, supportive, and able to help each other out. We strive for excellence and development, promoting each nurse to the height of their abilities and ambition. Each shift provides something different, which makes this the perfect unit to develop as a nurse.

Requirements

• Completion of an established program in Nursing.
• At least two years of experience in the field.
• Registered Nurse License.
• Basic Life Support certification within 30 days of being hired.

Responsibilities

• Provide care for Medical/Cardiac patients including Sepsis, Post Ablation, Insulin Drips, Cardiac Drips, COVID, Acute Cardiac and Neuro Admitting Patients.
• Maintain a patient ratio of 1:4.
• Contribute to a team-centered, positive, and supportive unit environment.
• Strive for excellence and development, promoting each nurse to the height of their abilities and ambition.
• Adapt to the diverse and changing nature of each shift.
