About The Position

3 West is a 33-bed Medical Surgical Orthopedic Trauma and Surgical Unit. We provide quality patient care to a diverse patient population, ranging from young adults to geriatrics, encompassing planned joint replacements, trauma cases, and patients admitted for other medical disease processes. The specialty focus for 3 West is orthopedic trauma and surgery, including total joint replacements and fractures. 3 West offers a Joint Mobility Camp for patients who have undergone joint procedures. The unit provides a learning-conducive comprehensive orientation that uses interdisciplinary collaboration. The Registered professional nurse assesses, implements or delegates, plans, and evaluates total nursing care and functions in accordance with established philosophy, providing and directing patient care for a group of patients. This role relates effectively with other shifts/departments for optimal continuity of care.

Requirements

Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing
Valid Texas RN License/Eligible Compact License
Must maintain a current BLS certification from American Heart Association
BSN required or must be obtained within 3 years.

Med-surg certification preferred and encouraged
