About The Position

As a Licensed Practical Nurse, you will play a crucial role in delivering treatment at Pyramid Healthcare, primarily by providing direct nursing services to clients in adult substance-use disorder and/or mental health treatment.

Requirements

  • Current Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse license in Pennsylvania.
  • Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in high-pressure environments.
  • Commitment to client-centered care and professional development.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate with other disciplines to ensure client needs are met and participate in chart monitoring and action planning.
  • Work a rotating weekend schedule with the ability to work every other weekend.
  • Review and follow detox protocols. Assist staff during high-volume shifts by prioritizing, organizing, and completing unit scheduling.
  • Orient new nurses as needed. Maintain medical equipment and conduct medical lectures for clients as needed.
  • Administer medications and complete Medication Administration Records (MAR).
  • Complete necessary labs for treatment, including HCG, urine, BAC, and glucometer tests.
  • Administer IM and SQ medications and Narcan as necessary.
  • Ensure labs are addressed and reviewed, and manage physician orders.
  • Follow proper consent procedures.
  • Participate in Performance Improvement Projects.
  • Maintain staff development needs and keep records up to date.
  • Complete nursing competency and evaluation processes.
  • Adhere to Evidence Based Practice guidelines.
  • Engage in continued nursing training and monthly meetings for professional development.
  • Conduct nursing assessments, develop treatment plans, administer medication, monitor vitals, follow detox and other medical protocols, and assist medical providers as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
