About The Position

Be an integral member of a talented multidisciplinary team working together to deliver quality care to pediatric patients, from neonatal to young adulthood, undergoing cardiovascular procedures and diagnostic cardiac catheterization in our hybrid cath lab at American Family Children’s Hospital (AFCH). You will also work in our main cardiac EP lab at University Hospital caring for a wide range of patients from young adult to geriatric. Practice in an environment that focuses on patient and family centered care. Be highly engaged in acquiring new skills and integrating evidence-based nursing practices into the unit culture. Enjoy participating in shared governance, with a unit-based council, to help support and drive quality improvement initiatives and lead practice change.

Requirements

  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of WI or holds a license issued by a jurisdiction that has adopted the nurse licensure compact
  • Current CPR/BLS Certification
  • ACLS within 6 months
  • PALS within 6 months
  • Six (6) months nursing experience or current participant in UW Health’s Nurse Residency Program with successful completion of the Nurse Residency Orientation on unit/similar unit
  • Two (2) years of nursing experience in Venous Access Team (VAT) & eICU

Responsibilities

  • Deliver quality care to pediatric patients undergoing cardiovascular procedures and diagnostic cardiac catheterization.
  • Care for a wide range of patients from young adult to geriatric in the main cardiac EP lab.
  • Practice patient and family centered care.
  • Acquire new skills and integrate evidence-based nursing practices.
  • Participate in shared governance and unit-based council to drive quality improvement initiatives and lead practice change.
  • Be on-call for off-hours, including weekends and holidays, with a 60-minute response time.
