About The Position

Baptist Health is looking for a Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Ambulatory Surgery Unit (Pre-op/Discharge) at our Baptist South location. This is a PRN position. This Registered Nurse position has a call requirement, and it is self-scheduled based on department needs and will require a 40-minute call response time. This role qualifies for competitive differentials and additional call compensation. Requirements

  • 2-3 years Surgical Services Experience
  • 2-3 years Critical Care Nursing Experience
  • Associate of Science in Nursing Required
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Required
  • Licensed Registered Nurse Required

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing Preferred
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Preferred
  • Conscious Sedation Certification Preferred
  • Certified Nurse Operating Room (CNOR) Preferred
  • Certified Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) Preferred

Responsibilities

  • Providing for patient needs as recognized through use of the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation) and the mission statement organization.
  • Supervision of care provided by supportive personnel and coordination of care provided by ancillary services.
  • Including patients and significant other (SO)/families in developing an individualized plan of care.
  • Education of patients/SO/families to their disease process and plan of care
  • Coordination and preparation of assigned room/case, assessment of patient care needs and the anticipation of needs of the case.
  • This position requires call rotation.
  • Provides for patient needs as recognized through use of the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation) and the mission statement; organization; supervision of care provided by supportive personnel and coordination of care provided by ancillary services
  • Including patients and significant others (SO)/families in developing an individualized plan of care
  • Education of patients/SO/families to their disease process and plan of care
  • Serves as patient advocate and responsible for providing care to critical patients that require a higher acuity of care.
