About The Position

Horizon offers a unique nursing experience that incorporates a medical, behavioral, psychological, and holistic approach to patient care. Our residential setting allows you to witness a patient’s recovery journey over several months and truly get to know them. The residential team is described as being more like one big family, not just coworkers. This role is full-time and involves comprehensive training, teamwork, collaboration, and a sense of fulfillment. The facility is a 68-bed residential stabilization and medically-supervised detox treatment center providing twenty-four hour care to adult men and women needing support, counseling, observation, nursing, and medical care to achieve initial stabilization from drug and/or alcohol withdrawal.

Requirements

Valid New York State Registered Professional Nurse License
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university

Responsibilities

Assist medical providers with medication management and integration appointments
Complete medical assessments
Provide education to patients that includes teaching preventative health and wellness skills to promote optimal health
Provide health education regarding comorbid conditions to our patient population
Provide education on smoking cessation
Perform touchless searches, conduct supervised toxicologies, and participate in room searches
Other duties as defined by the RN Manager
