About The Position

The Registered Nurse (RN) provides direct, quality clinical care and serves as a team leader to patient care staff. The position is located at The Willows at Fritz Farm in Lexington, Kentucky.

The RN leads direct care providers in carrying out medications and treatments, documentation, family teaching, care planning, and patient care conferencing in accordance with Health Campus policies and procedures. The RN uses the nursing process to deliver patient care and support continuity from admission through discharge and return to family and community. The role includes daily visits to residents on the assigned unit to evaluate physical and emotional status, reporting changes in condition to appropriate clinical personnel. The RN identifies resident problems and emergencies and initiates immediate lifesaving measures when a physician is absent. Administrative duties include completing medical forms, reports, evaluations, studies, and charting as needed.

Requirements

• Maintain a current, valid state RN license.
• Hold current, valid CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Lead direct care providers to ensure appropriate execution of medications and treatments, documentation, family teaching, care planning, and patient care conferencing in compliance with Health Campus Policies and Procedures.
• Use the nursing process to deliver patient care and ensure continuity of care from admission through discharge and return to family and community.
• Visit residents on the assigned unit daily to observe and evaluate physical and emotional status.
• Notify the charge nurse, physician, and/or Director of Nursing when a resident’s condition changes.
• Identify resident problems and emergency situations and initiate immediate lifesaving measures in the absence of a physician.
• Complete administrative duties such as medical forms, reports, evaluations, studies, and charting as necessary.
