About The Position

Utilizes the nursing process for assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation to provide safe, therapeutic care. Functions as a member of the interdisciplinary and nursing teams; carries out established nursing procedures and performs related duties as required. Provides nursing care for patients with more complex needs with assistance and supervision, and assists with the management of patient care administered by other members of the nursing team.

Requirements

• One year of recent full-time inpatient Operating Room (OR) RN clinical experience.
• Proficiency in laparoscopic surgery.
• Proficiency in circulating duties.
• Excellent verbal and written skills.
• Well organized and detail oriented, with the ability to multitask and work independently and under pressure.
• Basic computer keyboard skills and general PC knowledge.
• Flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Health locations.
• Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of California.
• Current healthcare provider CPR certification.

Nice To Haves

• Strong scrub experience.
• General Surgery, Ortho, or Neuro experience.
• Specialty certification – CNOR.
• BSN.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the knowledge and abilities essential to performing the stated behaviors.
• Carry out legal responsibilities within the scope of the Nurse Practice Act.
• Provide safe, therapeutic patient care using the nursing process.
• Perform established nursing procedures and related duties as required.
• Provide nursing care for patients with more complex needs with assistance and supervision.
• Assist with management of patient care administered by other members of the nursing team.
