Registered Nurse - Pediatric OR (BCH-Mission Bay)
About The Position
The Registered Nurse utilizes the nursing process for assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation to provide safe, therapeutic care. The role functions as a member of the interdisciplinary and nursing teams, carries out established nursing procedures, and performs related duties as required. The nurse provides care for patients with more complex needs with assistance and supervision, and assists with the management of patient care administered by other members of the nursing team. The position is responsible for maintaining the knowledge and abilities essential to the performance of stated behaviors and carrying out legal responsibilities within the scope of the Nurse Practice Act. Overall work performance is accountable to the NURSE SVC SUPV 2.
Requirements
- One year of recent full-time inpatient Operating Room (OR) RN clinical experience.
- Proficiency in laparoscopic surgery.
- Proficiency in circulating duties.
- Excellent verbal and written skills.
- Well organized and detail oriented, with the ability to multitask and work independently and under pressure.
- Basic computer keyboard skills and general PC knowledge.
- Flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Health locations.
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of California.
- Current healthcare provider CPR certification.
Nice To Haves
- Strong scrub experience.
- General Surgery, Ortho, or Neuro experience.
- Specialty certification – CNOR.
- BSN.
