About The Position

The Registered Nurse provides nursing care in AdventHealth Medical Group’s Pediatric Hematology and Oncology practice in Orlando. The role includes assessing patients, developing and implementing individualized care plans, administering medications and treatments, educating patients and families, coordinating care with medical staff and ancillary departments, and documenting patient information and outcomes. The nurse monitors and evaluates care plans, follows infection-control and safety requirements, provides emotional support, supervises and delegates care, participates in professional development and performance improvement, and responds to code situations. The practice is located at 2501 N. Orange Ave., Suite #589, Orlando, Florida. Its stated hours are Monday through Thursday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Requirements

Associate’s degree in Nursing.
Current Registered Nurse (RN) license.
Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR certification.
Fluency in English, including reading, speaking, and writing.
Basic computer skills, including navigating Microsoft Windows-based programs.
Ability to use abstract reasoning to assess patients, evaluate interventions, and revise plans of care based on outcomes.
Organizational and multitasking skills; knowledge of nursing care methods and procedures; teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.
At least one year of experience in an acute-care hospital setting.
Acute/Critical Care Clinical Nurse Specialist (CCNS) certification.
Neonatal Medical Certification (NEONATAL MED).
Pediatric Emergency Assessment, Recognition and Stabilization (PEARS) certification.
Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer with OB/GYN specialization (RDMS-OBGYN).
NonViolent Crisis Intervention Program certification.
S.T.A.B.L.E. certification.
Trauma Nurse Course Certified (TNCC).
Advanced Burn Life Support (ABLS) certification.

Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients’ physiological, psychological, developmental, sociocultural, spiritual, and lifestyle factors.
Develop and implement individualized care plans, evaluating and revising them as needed.
Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately according to physician orders and protocols, and monitor for adverse reactions.
Educate patients and families about health conditions, treatments, medications, and self-care strategies.
Collaborate with medical staff and ancillary departments to coordinate and optimize patient care.
Maintain accurate, timely documentation of patient information, care activities, interventions, and outcomes.
Continuously evaluate care plans and interventions and adjust them to improve outcomes.
Follow infection-control protocols, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
Provide emotional support and therapeutic communication to patients and families.
Supervise and delegate care provided by healthcare team members.
Participate in professional development and performance-improvement activities.
Respond promptly and effectively to code situations and provide interventions to stabilize patients.
