About The Position

Benchmark Senior Living is seeking compassionate Registered Nurses to join the Ridge Crest team at Meadow Ridge, a continuing care retirement community in Redding, Connecticut. Ridge Crest is a short- and long-term nursing center. The Registered Nurse delivers nursing care to residents in a warm, comfortable, home-like environment and works as part of a supportive team. The position is advertised as per diem, with an hourly wage range of $47–$51 and shift differentials of $5.00, $6.00, and $2.00, respectively.

Requirements

• Current state RN license and CPR certification.
• Graduate of an approved RN program, as required by state regulations.

Nice To Haves

• One to two years of experience working as a nurse is preferred.
• Previous paid or volunteer experience working with elderly people is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Accurately assess, communicate, and document residents’ status.
• Observe and report significant changes in resident behavior and health to the Director of Nursing, physician, family, nurses, care associates, and Administrator in accordance with state regulations.
• Direct and supervise the daily work assignments of Resident Care Assistants.
• Coordinate care needs with community providers through an effective case-management process.
• Balance service demands with support for resident independence.
• Recognize and assist in preventing elder abuse, neglect, and exploitation, including financial exploitation, and report concerns to appropriate sources in accordance with state regulations.
• Respond to emergencies and personal emergency response system alerts, and determine when to call for backup.
