About The Position

Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC) is seeking a Registered Nurse for their Medicine Stepdown unit, which is located on the 14th floor of Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt. This unit cares for adult patients (18 and older) with various medical diagnoses, including pulmonary, renal, hepatology, endocrine, and post-procedural conditions. The unit environment is described as friendly, team-focused, and flexible. The role involves applying the nursing process to plan and implement patient care, including education and continuum of care planning. The nurse will communicate pertinent patient information to the healthcare team, collaborate on patient goals, and evaluate progress. The position also emphasizes professional growth through continuous learning. A premium night shift differential of $10/hour is offered for select units, including this one, effective November 18th. Responsibilities

Applies the nursing process to plan and implement the care of patients, including patient and family education and continuum of care planning.
