Duke Regional Hospital in Durham, North Carolina, is a 388-bed facility, the second largest of Duke Health's four hospitals, offering a comprehensive range of medical, surgical, and diagnostic services, including orthopedics, weight-loss surgery, women's services, and heart and vascular services. The General Medicine Step-down is a 40-bed general medicine unit with a mix of intermediate and progressive care/step-down acuity. This unit provides opportunities to practice a variety of skills across a wide range of patient types, including general medicine, surgery, neurology, palliative care, and inpatient hospice. It is recognized as a high-performing team with a healthy, team-supported environment, welcoming new and experienced nurses to set a strong nursing foundation. This role involves independently planning and providing professional nursing care for patients in accordance with physician orders and established policies and procedures, and providing nursing services to patients and families as defined by the North Carolina Board of Nursing.
