Registered Nurse (RN) Float Pool
About The Position
Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital is hiring Registered Nurses (RN) for our Central Float Pool in Charlottesville, VA. This hospital-specific float pool primarily assigns RNs to IMCU or Medical/Surgical units, with opportunities for training and precepting in ICU and ED. It's ideal for those who enjoy variety or want to learn new skills. The role involves delivering high-quality, compassionate care, conducting assessments, implementing care plans, administering medications, and collaborating with an interdisciplinary team. RNs will also educate patients and families, monitor patient conditions, and document care according to standards.
Requirements
- Registered nursing License (Required)
- BLS required within 90 days of hire
- ACLS within 1 year of hire (Required)
- Degree or Diploma in Registered Nursing (required)
Nice To Haves
- 2 years of acute care nursing experience is preferred.
- Bachelor of Science Nursing- BSN or MSN (Preferred)
- Critical care experience (preferred)
- Medical Surgical experience (preferred)
- Previous healthcare experience (preferred)
- Students in the process of completing a registered nursing program with previous experience in acute care clinical roles may be considered.
- Students in the process of obtaining a Registered Nursing License with previous experience in acute care clinical roles may be considered.
Responsibilities
- Conducting thorough patient assessments.
- Designing and implementing personalized care plans.
- Administering medications and treatments.
- Evaluating patient responses to interventions.
- Working closely with an interdisciplinary team of healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care and ensure continuity throughout the treatment process.
- Educating patients and their families about health conditions, treatments, and post-discharge care.
- Monitoring and recording vital signs.
- Observing changes in patient conditions and responding promptly with appropriate interventions.
- Utilizing sound clinical judgment to address complex health situations.
- Consulting with medical team members as needed.
- Documenting all care in accordance with regulatory and organizational standards.
