About The Position
Sentara Virginia Beach is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Med Surg Telemetry Neuro/Stroke Unit, 2 East. New Grads Welcome! This position's primary duties include assessing/admitting patients, rounding checks, giving medications, talking with family members, and being responsible for the overall care of your patients. The unit is a 21-bed med/surg/stroke unit where dedicated professionals collaborate seamlessly to provide unparalleled patient care. It offers a prime learning environment for aspiring healthcare professionals and fosters growth and excellence. Nurses on this unit have the opportunity to become NIHSS (Stroke Certified Nurse) certified. Requirements
- Virginia or compact multistate RN (Registered Nurse) license in good standing
- BLS within 90 days of hire
- ADN required
- All Direct Care Registered Nurses must have Basic Life Support within 90 days of hire.
Nice To Haves
- BSN or higher preferred
- Advance Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within 90 days of hire (for Critical Care/Intermediate Care Unit)
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within 90 days of hire (for Emergency Care and Inpatient Pediatrics)
- Oncology Nursing Society (ONS)/Oncology Nursing Certification Corporation (ONCC) or Sentara approved course Chemotherapy & Biotherapy Provider Card within 6 months of hire (for Oncology Care)
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program Certification (NRP) within 6 months of hire (for Women’s Care - Perinatal departments)
