About The Position

This role is for a Registered Nurse in the Cardiac Stepdown Progressive Care Float department at Ascension Saint Thomas West in Nashville, TN. The position is PRN (as needed) with day shifts. The nurse will be responsible for implementing and monitoring patient care plans, observing and communicating changes in patient condition, coordinating care across medical disciplines, fulfilling medical orders, and evaluating ongoing patient care needs in collaboration with the healthcare team.

Requirements

Advanced Life Support obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
Registered Nurse credentialed from the Tennessee Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire.

Responsibilities

Implement and monitor specific patient care plans to ensure treatment is progressing as intended.
Observe, record, and communicate changes in a patient's condition to the appropriate parties.
Act as a central coordinator across all medical disciplines to ensure patient care remains well-coordinated.
Attend to and accurately carry out all medical orders provided by physicians and nursing staff.
Evaluate and coordinate a patient’s ongoing care needs in collaboration with other members of the healthcare team.
