About The Position

We are hiring a Full Time Registered Nurse for our Primary Care Clinic in Lee's Summit! This role is accountable for utilizing the nursing process, performing patient care, delegating patient care tasks, and supervising other patient care staff. The nurse will coordinate the plan of care for assigned patients and consult with the healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes. This includes providing professional nursing care, telephone triage, managing patient flow, coordinating patient care, scheduling emergent appointments, identifying patient and family learning needs, providing advice, inserting intravenous access with medication administration, and other duties as assigned. The nurse will delegate tasks to clinical staff, serve as a subject matter expert for patient education, assessment, interpretation, and documentation, and enter admission orders as directed by a provider. Responsibilities also include managing expired samples, working autonomously and collaboratively, demonstrating excellent customer service, and potentially covering Medical Assistant or LPN duties as needed.

Requirements

  • MO and KS RN License required
  • BLS required
  • Associate Degree
  • Basic Life Support - American Heart Association or Red Cross
  • Registered Nurse - Various

  • Previous Primary Care Clinic experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Utilize the nursing process.
  • Perform patient care.
  • Delegate patient care tasks and supervise other patient care staff.

  • Provide professional nursing care for clinic patients following established standards and practices.
  • Perform telephone triage.

  • Identify learning needs for patients and families and provide advice and recommendations.
  • Insert intravenous access with medication administration.
  • Perform duties as assigned based on clinic need.
  • Delegate tasks to clinical staff in accordance with demonstrated competencies and consideration to Scope of Practice.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for patient education, assessment, interpretation, and documentation of patient care and testing.
  • Enter admission orders as directed by provider.
  • Manage expired samples.
  • Work in a team atmosphere as well as autonomously.
  • Provide excellent customer service and maintain a professional demeanor.
  • May be responsible for covering Medical Assistant job duties, LPN job duties, or other office duties as needed.
