Regions Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse for its busy Postpartum Unit. The hospital has received the Institute for Healthcare Improvement’s highest ranking for patient safety and supports the largest midwife practice in the Twin Cities, with over half of deliveries handled by midwives. Nurses work on an interdisciplinary team with physicians, midwives, residents, and students, and provide patient- and family-centered care at the bedside. The Professional Nursing Practice Model and Shared Governance Model empower nurses to manage their clinical practice and work environment using evidence-based nursing practice. Regions Hospital supports new nurses with individualized orientation and a nurse residency program, the Transition to Regions Hospital Practice program. All newly hired registered nurses are automatically enrolled. The Birth Center, built in 2020, has 13 Labor and Delivery rooms, 2 operating rooms, 24 Postpartum rooms, and 7 NICU rooms. Its Level 2 NICU has 8 beds across 7 private rooms, including one twin room. The hospital also uses an Enhanced Couplet Care model: five Postpartum rooms have NICU headwalls so some NICU babies can remain with their families. The Birth Center has approximately 2,800 births annually, and 15–20% of babies require some NICU-level care. The hospital serves a diverse patient population; 60% of patients are people of color and 25% require interpreters. This is a 0.60 FTE night position with 12-hour shifts every Friday and Saturday.
