About The Position

The Registered Nurse works in the Emergency Department at Columbia St. Mary's Ozaukee in Mequon, Wisconsin. This part-time, day-shift position delivers direct patient care in accordance with organizational protocols and best practices. The nurse manages patients’ care journeys, documents progress, carries out physician and nursing orders, and communicates important status updates to the multidisciplinary team. The role also coordinates services across clinical disciplines and supports safe discharge planning and transitions home.

Requirements

• Obtain Advanced Life Support within 6 months (180 days) of hire or job transfer; American Heart Association or American Red Cross certification is accepted.
• Obtain BLS Provider certification within 1 month (30 days) of hire or job transfer; American Heart Association or American Red Cross certification is accepted.
• Hold Registered Nurse credentials from the Wisconsin Board of Nursing before hire or job transfer, or hold a current home-state license if considered a multi-state/Compact State.
• Have a diploma from an accredited school or college of nursing, or the required professional licensure at the time of hire.

Nice To Haves

• Pediatric Advanced Life Support certification; American Heart Association or American Red Cross certification is accepted.

Responsibilities

• Deliver compassionate, high-quality direct patient care in accordance with organizational protocols and best practices.
• Manage the patient care journey, document progress, and promptly execute physician and nursing orders.
• Communicate critical patient status updates to the multidisciplinary team to support continuity of care.
• Coordinate care across clinical disciplines and serve as a primary liaison for integrated patient services.
• Assess patient needs and collaborate with the healthcare team on discharge planning and safe transitions home.
