About The Position

The Registered Nurse works in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) at St. Cloud Hospital with patients of all ages before and after surgery. In pre-op, the nurse helps ensure patients are prepared for surgery and safe to go to the operating room. After surgery, the nurse works with surgeons and anesthesiologists as patients wake up, monitoring their stability before discharge or return to a hospital room. The role is fast-paced and requires quick thinking, flexibility, and adaptability. This is a part-time position scheduled for 48 hours every two weeks. Shifts are Monday through Friday and may be day or evening shifts, in 8- or 12-hour blocks with various start times. The role includes approximately every eighth weekend, approximately two holidays per year, and occasional night call.

Requirements

Graduate from a nursing program.
Current Registered Nurse licensure in Minnesota.
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required within three years of hire.
Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS Healthcare Provider card.
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required within 12 months of hire.
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification required within 12 months of hire.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience in ICU, CCU, or PACU settings.
Critical care experience in hemodynamic monitoring and basic EKG interpretation.

Responsibilities
