About The Position
The Meadows Psychiatric Center is a 119-bed inpatient behavioral health facility with numerous outpatient programs spanning the entire continuum of care. The beautiful 52-acre rural campus is located minutes outside of State College in Central PA. The Meadows provides comprehensive care to children through geriatrics. This Registered Nurse (RN) position is full-time, working the 7pm-7:30 am shift with an every-other-weekend rotation. Part-time and PRN options are also available, though some benefits and the sign-on bonus may be excluded for these roles. Full-time status qualifies for a $20,000.00 sign-on bonus.
Requirements
- Valid Pennsylvania Registered Nursing License or Temp Permit to Practice
- Genuine interest in Psychiatric Nursing

- Previous Psychiatric Nursing experience preferred, not required as we provide on the job training and education
Responsibilities
- Provides professional nursing care for all patients on the Child, Adolescent, Stabilization and Adult Units.
- Prescribes, coordinates and delegates nursing care and oversees the unit activities for each shift.
- Completes nursing assessments and documents care and progress of the patient each shift.
- Completes the Columbia Suicide Assessment on all new admissions and on any patient that has a change in their suicide risk level.
- Facilitates medication administration activities in accordance with safe medication practices, including patient education.
- Responds to all crisis/emergency events to direct staff and ensure patient safety.
- Attends Treatment Team to aid in the development of patient care plans.
- Oversees Mental Health Technicians and Licensed Practical Nurses working on the unit.
