About The Position
The Registered Nurse provides direct nursing care in accordance with the healthcare organization’s policies, procedures, and protocols. This part-time day-shift role is in the 3 South MedSurg department at UAB St. Vincent's Birmingham. The nurse implements and monitors patient care plans, monitors and communicates patient conditions, coordinates care across disciplines, carries out physician and nursing orders, and helps coordinate discharge planning with the healthcare team.
Requirements
- BLS Provider certification obtained within 30 days of hire or job transfer; American Heart Association or American Red Cross certification is accepted.
- Currently licensed or eligible to be licensed as a Registered Nurse by the Alabama Board of Nursing.
- Diploma from an accredited school or college of nursing and professional licensure at time of hire.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols.
- Implement and monitor patient care plans.
- Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition as appropriate.
- Serve as a primary coordinator of all disciplines to support well-coordinated patient care.
- Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
- Assess and coordinate patient discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.
