About The Position

The long-term care Registered Nurse (RN) at St. John’s Center provides individualized nursing care to residents by using the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The RN collaborates with residents and families, providers, and other interdisciplinary colleagues to plan, implement, and evaluate care. St. John’s Center is a 56-bed senior skilled nursing facility providing long-term and post-acute care.

Requirements

Currently hold an unencumbered RN license with the State Board of Nursing where nursing is practiced, or possess multistate licensure if in a Nurse Licensure Compact state.
Obtain and maintain required department-specific competencies and certifications.

Nice To Haves

Graduation from a nationally accredited nursing program, such as one accredited by CCNE, ACEN, or NLN CNEA.
Bachelor’s degree in nursing.

Responsibilities

Practice within the full scope of nursing expertise and apply age- and population-specific standards in the assigned clinical setting.
Provide care to residents across preventative care, health maintenance, diagnosis, and treatment.
Coordinate care and perform resident assessments, resident education, and other nursing interventions.
May serve as charge nurse and delegate appropriate tasks to licensed and unlicensed assistive personnel based on job duties, skills, resident care needs, and competence.
Provide delegates with assistance and support to promote safe, reliable resident care and resolve care and service concerns.
Practice in accordance with the applicable Nurse Practice Act, administrative rules, nursing practice standards, and Code of Ethics.
