Registered Nurse - Med-Surg (7East)
About The Position
The Registered Nurse utilizes the nursing process—including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation—to provide safe, therapeutic care. The nurse works as a member of the interdisciplinary and nursing teams, carries out established nursing procedures, and performs related duties as required. The role provides nursing care to patients with more complex needs with assistance and supervision, and assists with managing patient care delivered by other members of the nursing team. The nurse is responsible for maintaining the knowledge and abilities essential to performing the stated behaviors and for carrying out legal responsibilities within the scope of the Nurse Practice Act. Overall work performance is accountable to the NURSE SVC SUPV 2. The position requires flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Medical Center locations.
Requirements
- Two years of recent adult medical-surgical clinical RN experience in an acute care hospital.
- Ability to meet the physical requirements of the position.
- Multisystem assessment skills to provide pain management, pulmonary and cardiovascular assessment, and management of fluid and electrolyte imbalance.
- Flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Medical Center locations.
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of California.
- Current active American Heart Association CPR certification.

- Recent clinical RN experience in an academic medical center.
