About The Position

Registered Nurse with a Short Stay specialty is sought for a travel assignment in Templeton, California. This is a temporary assignment at a Short Term Acute Care Hospital environment. The contract duration is 8 weeks, with a start date of August 17, 2026. The role involves providing direct patient care for short-stay patients, developing and implementing care plans, administering medications, and educating patients and families.

Requirements

• Current RN license for the state of assignment (California)
• BLS certification (current)
• At least two years of recent nursing experience in the field
• Must have current Epic EMR experience
• Ability to work a day shift in a fast-paced short-stay setting; strong communication and collaboration skills

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care for short-stay patients, including routine assessments, vital signs monitoring, medication administration, and basic procedures as ordered.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team; monitor patient response and modify care as needed.
• Document nursing actions and patient status accurately in the Epic EMR; ensure timely, compliant charting.
• Administer medications and manage IV therapy, monitor for adverse reactions, and respond to changes in patient condition.
• Educate patients and families on discharge instructions, safety precautions, and follow-up plans.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized environment; uphold infection control standards and respond promptly to emergencies.
