About The Position

This is a travel assignment for a Registered Nurse in a Short Term Acute Care Hospital setting in Templeton, CA. The role focuses on perioperative/short-stay patient care responsibilities and may require serving as a scrub technician when needed. The assignment is for 13 weeks, with a start date of 08/31/2026. The position guarantees 32 hours per week, with shifts being 5x8 Days.

Requirements

Graduate of an approved nursing program.
Current RN license in the state of practice (California) required.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an approved vendor required.
ACLS certification required within 30 days of hire.
AHA-ACLS or ARC-ALS certification required.
Minimum two years of recent RN experience in PACU or perioperative/short-stay settings.
Ability to work in a perioperative/short-stay hospital setting.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Willingness to participate in weekend and weeknight call shifts if needed.

Nice To Haves

One-year recent acute care RN experience in an operating room preferred.

Responsibilities

Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for patients in a perioperative/short-stay environment; monitor patient status and respond to changes.
Serve as scrub technician when needed; support sterile technique and instrument handling in the operating context.
Coordinate and delegate patient care with the health care team; communicate clearly with patients, families, and team members.
Document history, physical data, assessments, medication administration, and discharge planning information in the medical record per policy; ensure accuracy and legibility.
Recognize signs of cardiac, respiratory, or other emergencies; participate in Code Blue and other emergency responses as directed.
Contribute to patient education, discharge planning, and staff development; participate in unit-based quality improvement and Lean daily management practices.
Maintain infection control standards and patient privacy; support a respectful, collaborative work environment.
