About The Position

This is a travel assignment for a Registered Nurse in a Short Term Acute Care Hospital setting in Templeton, CA. The role focuses on perioperative/short-stay patient care responsibilities and may require serving as a scrub technician when needed. The assignment is for 13 weeks, with a start date of 08/31/2026. The position guarantees 32 hours per week, with shifts being 5x8 Days.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an approved nursing program.
  • Current RN license in the state of practice (California) required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an approved vendor required.
  • ACLS certification required within 30 days of hire.
  • AHA-ACLS or ARC-ALS certification required.
  • Minimum two years of recent RN experience in PACU or perioperative/short-stay settings.
  • Ability to work in a perioperative/short-stay hospital setting.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Willingness to participate in weekend and weeknight call shifts if needed.

Nice To Haves

  • One-year recent acute care RN experience in an operating room preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for patients in a perioperative/short-stay environment; monitor patient status and respond to changes.
  • Serve as scrub technician when needed; support sterile technique and instrument handling in the operating context.
  • Coordinate and delegate patient care with the health care team; communicate clearly with patients, families, and team members.
  • Document history, physical data, assessments, medication administration, and discharge planning information in the medical record per policy; ensure accuracy and legibility.
  • Recognize signs of cardiac, respiratory, or other emergencies; participate in Code Blue and other emergency responses as directed.
  • Contribute to patient education, discharge planning, and staff development; participate in unit-based quality improvement and Lean daily management practices.
  • Maintain infection control standards and patient privacy; support a respectful, collaborative work environment.
