About The Position

UPMC Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh is a leading institution in treating childhood conditions and diseases, pioneering new therapies, and educating future pediatric specialists. The Professional Staff Nurse provides highly competent patient care and treatment with empathy and a passion for learning. This role requires independent judgment, clear communication, and collaboration with physicians, other care providers, patients, and their families to achieve optimal patient outcomes. As a key member of the care delivery team, the Professional Staff Nurse sets the standards for nursing care quality and is accountable for its provision, demonstrating a commitment to the community and the nursing profession.

Requirements

  • Act 33 /34 / 73 Clearances with Renewal
  • Basic Life Support or CPR
  • Registered Nurse License
  • Ability to build positive, caring relationships across all levels of staff and with patients/families.
  • Effectively navigate complex environments, shifting priorities and specialized equipment.
  • Strong clinical judgement and critical thinking for patient care and leading nursing processes.
  • Physical and visual stamina required for frequent movement and patient handling

Nice To Haves

  • BSN is strongly preferred.
  • If no BSN, enrolled in a BSN program is strongly preferred.
  • Previous Nursing experience strongly preferred.
