Utilizes the nursing process to provide direct and indirect patient care within the parameters of hospital policy, the WI Nurse Practice Act and standards of nursing practice. Communicates with providers/nurse manager/co-workers about changes in patient’s clinical condition including results of diagnostic studies and symptomatology; adjusts the plan of care quickly and accurately as needed. Delegates care appropriately to assistive personnel including Technicians, Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA), Health Unit Coordinators (HUC) and Certified Medical Assistants (CMA). Understands and supports AMC Mission, Vision and Values, the principles and activities of True North, and organizational goals. Staff Nurse I A registered professional nurse who performs direct nursing care under immediate direction of a nurse manager or charge nurse on an assigned floor or unit. This includes recently graduated registered nurses or refresher nurses during their probationary period and throughout the period of time that is considered to be orientation time until such time that they are functioning as a Staff Nurse II. Staff Nurse II A registered professional nurse who performs direct and indirect patient care on an assigned unit under the general supervision of the nurse manager and who is qualified to assume charge nurse responsibilities.
