Registered Nurse (Intake Nurse)
About The Position
The Registered Nurse (RN) delivers patient care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation to address patients’ physical and emotional needs. The role supports patient safety and effective treatment through collaboration with interdisciplinary healthcare teams, and promotes patient education and advocacy to help individuals and families manage their health. The RN completes admission assessments, provides direct care, monitors and documents changes, reviews medication information, and maintains accurate medical records. The position is scheduled Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Requirements
- Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Ohio.
- Experience with detox patients.
- Familiarity with CIWA/COWS assessments.
- CPR and First Aid certification.
- Demonstrated experience in direct patient care.
Nice To Haves
- Five years of experience working in the AoD and/or mental health field.
- Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Experience working with nurse practitioners in a collaborative care environment.
- Experience working in an AOD/mental health environment.
Responsibilities
- Complete comprehensive nursing assessments upon admission.
- Provide direct patient care, including monitoring vital signs, administering medications, and performing client assessments.
- Observe clients, chart observations, and report changes.
- Review clients’ medications and document them on the Medication Profile at intake and when new prescriptions are received.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate medical care.
- Accurately document patient information and maintain detailed medical records in compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Educate and advocate for patients to support their understanding, health management, rights, and preferences.
