About The Position

Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital is hiring a Registered Nurse for the Freestanding Emergency Department in Charlottesville, VA! The Free-Standing Emergency Room is a 13-bed facility seeing about 60 patients a day with a physician and PA on staff as well as additional support including ED Techs. This well supported department is centered around teamwork and patient- first mindset. In an emergency, quick access to skilled care makes all the difference. That's why Sentara offers access to emergency services 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Our management team has been long standing and diligent about building a cohesive and dedicated care team to serve the Charlottesville, VA area.

Requirements

• Degree or Diploma in Registered Nursing (required)
• Registered nursing License (Required)
• ACLS required prior to completion of orientation
• PALS required prior to completion of orientation
• BLS required within 90 days of hire
• Critical care experience in hospital required
• Manages complex cases in fast-paced environments
• Communication with patients and providers

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor of Science Nursing- BSN or MSN (Preferred)
• 2 years of Emergency Room Experience (Preferred)

Responsibilities

• Perform a competent level of nursing care as demonstrated by the critical thinking model known as the nursing process.
• Assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care- teaching and health promotion and evaluation.
• Ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence- based practice /nursing research, quality, evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health.
• Possesses clinical knowledge and skills to meet standards as required by specific clinical areas.
