About The Position

The Registered Nurse provides direct nursing care in accordance with the healthcare organization’s established policies, procedures, and protocols. The role implements and monitors patient care plans, monitors and communicates patient conditions, and coordinates care across disciplines. The nurse also assesses and coordinates patients’ discharge planning needs with the healthcare team.

This PRN day-schedule position is in General Med Surg at Ascension Sacred Heart Pensacola in Pensacola, Florida.

Requirements

• BLS Provider certification obtained within 30 days of hire or job transfer; American Heart Association or American Red Cross certification accepted.
• Florida Registered Nurse license, or a current home-state license qualifying for multi-state Compact State recognition, obtained before hire or job transfer.
• Diploma from an accredited school or college of nursing, or required professional licensure at the time of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care according to established organizational policies, procedures, and protocols.
• Implement and monitor patient care plans.
• Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition as appropriate.
• Serve as the primary coordinator of all disciplines to support well-coordinated patient care.
• Assess and coordinate patient discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.
