About The Position

Sitter & Barfoot Veterans Care Center (SBVCC) is recruiting for a wage RN Floor Nurse with Charge Nurse responsibilities for specific shifts. This is a part-time position with limited hours per year and is not eligible for benefits. The facility provides care for Virginia's Veterans in a single-level setting with 200 single-occupancy rooms across four nursing units.

Requirements

• Licensed as a Registered Nurse in Virginia.

Nice To Haves

• Nursing experience in a long-term care or adult geriatric setting
• Supervision experience

Responsibilities

• Formulates plan of care for new residents.
• Prepares all required reports and documentation.
• Consults with Nursing Supervisor/Unit Manager as needed.
• Maintains equipment, supplies, and materials necessary for nursing care.
• Administers medications and treatment accurately for assigned residents.
• Documents residents’ health changes via acute care nurse’s notes and shift change nursing reports.
• Consults with physicians; receiving, recording, and implementing orders and scheduling appointments.
• Completes daily rounds; observes and evaluates the physical and emotional status of assigned residents and taking necessary actions to ensure their health and well-being.
