About The Position

The competent Nurse in an ambulatory surgery center practices independently in the same or a similar clinical setting and demonstrates awareness of relevant aspects of each situation. Provides routine and complex care, works toward long-range goals or plans, and continues to develop the ability to manage clinical contingencies. Makes appropriate assignments and delegates to other care providers to help manage the clinical situation.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing preferred.
• One year of experience in the related nursing specialty preferred.
• BLS required.
• RN license in the state of employment or compact.

Responsibilities

• Meets expectations of the applicable OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
• Provides nursing care using the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients, consistent with the ANA Scope and Standards of Practice.
• Addresses increasingly complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families in accordance with level of practice.
• Administers medications and treatments using the appropriate protocol, and monitors for side effects and treatment effectiveness.
• Documents patient history, symptoms, medication, and care provided.
• Assesses learning needs and provides education to patients, family members, and/or caregivers; identifies issues and resources.
• Makes appropriate assignments and delegates to other care providers to help manage the clinical situation.
