Internal Registry RN - Cath Lab
About The Position
The Temporary Internal Registry Cath Lab Registered Nurse (RN) works in the Cardiovascular Laboratory in Olympia Fields, Illinois, providing direct care to adult and geriatric patients during diagnostic and therapeutic cardiovascular procedures. The role addresses psychosocial, physical, and general care needs related to the surgical environment and communicates with physicians about patient condition as needed. The nurse monitors and records patient condition and physiologic and hemodynamic data throughout procedures, helps ensure procedure rooms and equipment are ready, maintains equipment and inventory, and obtains supplies for cases. The position also participates in performance improvement and continuous quality improvement activities. The assignment is expected to last 12 weeks, with staffing needs evaluated on an ongoing basis and potentially adjusted for operational requirements.
Requirements
- Active state Registered Nursing (RN) license.
- Current BCLS (AHA) certification.
- ACLS certificate upon hire and maintained as current.
- One year of clinical experience in a Cardiovascular Lab doing cardiac work or in a Critical Care area.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN).
Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care to adult and geriatric patient populations.
- Address psychosocial, physical, and general aspects of care related to the surgical environment.
- Communicate with physicians continuously and as needed about patient condition.
- Assist with maintenance of equipment and inventory.
- Assess procedure room or equipment functioning and readiness.
- Obtain supplies for individual cases and ensure the Cardiovascular Laboratory team's needs are met.
- Monitor physiologic and hemodynamic data related to diagnostic and therapeutic procedures performed in the cardiovascular lab.
- Continuously monitor and record patients' condition while in the Cardiovascular Laboratory.
- Participate in performance improvement and continuous quality improvement activities.
