About The Position

The Internal Registry RN provides safe, direct patient care in the ICU using the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The role includes guiding patient and family education and the activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining ICU standards of care. The RN is accountable for care provided to assigned patients, communicates clinical changes and relevant monitoring or diagnostic results to physicians, responds promptly and accurately to changes in patient condition or treatment response, and maintains patient privacy and confidentiality.

The assignment is expected to last 12 weeks, but staffing needs will be reviewed on an ongoing basis and may change based on operational requirements. The role is listed as PRN, days, and temporary at Olympia Fields Hospital.

Requirements

• Current and valid state RN license.
• Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• Basic Arrhythmia Interpretation within 30 days of hire.
• Current ACLS certificate within 30 days of hire and maintain current.
• Minimum of one year as a staff RN in an acute care hospital.

Nice To Haves

• Completion of a Critical Care Course.
• Critical Care RN (CCRN) certification.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
• Critical care experience.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe patient care using assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
• Provide direct patient care within the scope of practice.
• Direct and guide patient and family teaching and the activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining ICU standards of care.
• Remain directly responsible and accountable for care provided to assigned patients.
• Communicate changes in a patient’s clinical condition to the physician, including hemodynamic monitoring, diagnostic study results, abnormal results, and symptomatology.
• Respond quickly and accurately to changes in patient condition or response to treatment.
• Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality.
