About The Position

The Registered Nurse works at Grand River Health’s main hospital campus in Rifle, Colorado, reporting directly to the Emergency Department Director. The RN provides professional, compassionate care to patients in a Level IV emergency department at a rural health facility. The ED serves patients with a wide variety of cases, requiring critical thinking and broad clinical skills while caring for patients and families in the community.

Requirements

• Graduation from an accredited school of Nursing.
• Active Registered Nurse license in the State of Colorado.
• Obtain an American Heart Association BLS card within three months of initial employment and maintain current status throughout employment with GRHD.
• Obtain American Heart Association ACLS, PALS or ENPC, and TNCC certifications within six months of initial employment and maintain them throughout employment with GRHD.

Nice To Haves

• One year of professional nursing experience in an emergency department setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Triage patients and determine care priorities based on their physical, psychological, and social needs.
• Record patient histories, perform diagnostic tests, administer medications, and develop care plans with other medical professionals.
• Assist physicians during examinations and emergency procedures, operating and monitoring medical equipment as needed.
• Observe patients’ progress, document observations in medical records, and update the attending physician directly when necessary.
• Assist in maintaining health and preventing or managing illness, injury, and disability.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
