Registered Nurse (RN) Mobile & Flexible - Northern Mahaska
About The Position
AffiniCare is hiring Registered Nurses to provide licensed nursing support to Care Initiatives’ skilled nursing communities in the Northern Mahaska region. Nurses travel to multiple communities within their region to help cover open shifts and provide direct care in skilled nursing settings. The role offers a flexible, customizable schedule: employees can choose facilities and shifts, with a minimum commitment of 16 hours per month. Full-time and part-time schedules are available. The RN provides compassionate resident care, supports daily clinical operations, administers medications and treatments, monitors residents’ conditions, and collaborates with interdisciplinary colleagues. The position also involves communicating with residents and families, maintaining accurate documentation, and following infection-control, safety, and compliance protocols.
Requirements
- Active Iowa RN license.
- Active CPR certification.
- Twelve months of verifiable experience working as an RN.
- Ability to travel between multiple Care Initiatives communities within the region.
- Must live within a reasonable driving distance of Care Initiatives communities.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct, compassionate nursing care to residents in a skilled nursing environment.
- Support daily clinical operations on the unit, ensuring quality care and resident safety.
- Administer medications and treatments accurately and on time.
- Monitor resident conditions and respond promptly to changes in status.
- Collaborate with CNAs, LPNs, providers, and other interdisciplinary team members to promote teamwork and high-quality care.
- Communicate effectively with residents and families regarding care needs.
- Document care accurately to meet clinical, regulatory, and facility standards.
- Follow infection-control, safety, and compliance protocols.
- Travel between multiple Care Initiatives communities within the region to assist with open shifts.
