About The Position

Registered Nurse position on the Adult Psych Unit at Samaritan Hospital. The RN assesses patients’ needs, plans nursing care that addresses spiritual, emotional, and physiological needs, and ensures the plan is carried out and evaluated. The RN is accountable to the Nurse Manager for the quality of patient care and delivers care appropriate to patients’ age, growth, and development. When serving in the charge role, the RN performs clinical and leadership functions, including assessing patients and planning care. This is a full-time, 12-hour night-shift position.

Requirements

Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of New York.
Ability to assess, plan, direct, intervene in, and evaluate patient care.
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.

Nice To Haves

One year of RN experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Assess the needs of each assigned patient.
Plan nursing care addressing patients’ spiritual, emotional, and physiological needs.
Ensure the plan of care is carried out through personal performance and/or leadership of supervised personnel, and evaluate the plan of care.
Remain accountable to the Nurse Manager for the quality of patient care delivered.
Modify and deliver care appropriate to patients’ age, growth, and development, according to the unit’s scope of services.
When serving in the charge role, perform clinical and leadership functions, assess patient needs, and plan nursing care to meet those needs.
