Registered Nurse, Full-Time Days, 7a-3p, Preprocedure Evaluation Center, Atlantic Health Morristown Medical Center
About The Position
This Registered Nurse position is a full-time role, working day shifts from 7 AM to 3 PM in the Preprocedure Evaluation Center at Atlantic Health Morristown Medical Center. The nurse will utilize strong interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with patients, family members, and other staff. Key responsibilities include accurately and thoroughly completing all nursing documentation for patients seen at PPEC/AC or spoken to over the phone, which encompasses medical and surgical history, allergies, medication intake, fall assessment, education, and other pertinent information. The nurse will also complete nursing assessments in Epic and report any abnormalities to the appropriate staff, such as surgeons' offices or anesthesiologists. Additionally, the role involves educating patients and family members on a one-to-one basis or in a formal class, providing pre-op instructions specific to the patient's needs and scheduled surgery.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program.
- Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse.
- BLS certification.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing. All ASN must complete their BSN studies within five years of their start date.
- Master’s degree in nursing or related field.
- 1+ year of experience in Nursing or relevant area.
- ACLS certification.
Responsibilities
- Uses good interpersonal and communication skills with patients, family members and other staff.

- Completes nursing assessments in Epic.

- Gives the appropriate pre-op instructions specific to the patients' needs and their scheduled surgery.
