RN Observation Weekend Dayshift
About The Position
Seeking a Registered Nurse for the Emergency Department Observation Unit at Baptist Health Floyd. This is a full-time position (36 hours weekly) with a dayshift schedule (7 am-7 pm), specifically working every weekend and one additional weekday shift. The RN will be responsible and accountable for direct comprehensive nursing care for patients from admission to discharge, functioning as an on-shift team member to meet the needs of patients, families, and co-workers. The Observation Unit is a 29-bed unit affiliated with the Emergency Department, observing patients expected to be hospitalized for less than 24 hours. Nurses on this unit care for a variety of patients including those with chest pain, cardiac arrhythmias, post-cardiac catheterizations, post-laparoscopic cholecystectomies, UTIs, and DVTs. The unit is staffed with a provider from 7 AM to 5 PM daily to offer support and high-level care. New Graduate RNs are welcome.
Requirements
- Current Indiana or compact state RN license required.
- BLS for healthcare provider required.
- ACLS for Healthcare provider required (obtained within 12 months of hire).
