This role involves providing for patient needs using the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation) and adhering to the organization's mission. The Registered Nurse will supervise care provided by supportive personnel and coordinate care with ancillary services. Key responsibilities include educating patients and their families about their disease process and care plan, and assessing patients pre- and post-procedure in Gastroenterology and conscious sedation areas. This position requires participation in on-call duties.

Requirements

• Diploma Nurses must have 5+ years of progressive care experience.

Responsibilities

• Provides for patient needs as recognized through the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation) and the mission statement.
• Supervises care provided by supportive personnel.
• Coordinates care provided by ancillary services.
• Includes patients and significant others (SO)/families in developing an individualized plan of care.
• Educates patients/SO/families to their disease process and plan of care.
• Performs patient assessments pre/post procedure in Gastroenterology and conscious sedation areas.
• Requires call.
