The Clinical Nurse provides comprehensive nursing care to patients and their families by implementing a plan of care based on the patient’s developmental and health care needs. These needs are identified through assessment of the patient’s physical, psychological, and socioeconomic status, along with physician orders for care, treatment, and education. The Clinical Nurse understands and supports the organization’s mission, values, and management of patient care services. The nurse incorporates the ANA Scope and Standards of Nursing Practice, the North Carolina Board of Nursing Practice Act, WakeMed’s Division of Nursing Professional Practice model, and WakeMed’s Patient & Family Centered Care (PFCC) model. PFCC emphasizes dignity and respect, information sharing, participation, and collaboration with patients and families.
