About The Position

The Registered Nurse Med Tele provides clinical expertise to ensure patients receive high-quality, efficient care in a medical telemetry environment. The nurse assesses, plans, intervenes in, and evaluates care for Telemetry Unit patients; instructs patients and families regarding medications and treatment; maintains and reviews patient records, including posting test and examination results; and administers medications according to physician orders. The role offers opportunities to contribute to patient-care decisions through collaborative relationships with the direct manager, hospital councils, and nursing initiatives.

Requirements

• Licensure as a Florida Registered Nurse in accordance with state regulations, or appropriate compact licensure; if holding a compact license, an active Florida RN license is required within 60 days of hire.
• Nursing diploma or Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN).
• Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification within six months of hire or transfer.
• Critical-thinking skills, service excellence, and good interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to read and comprehend written instructions and follow verbal instructions.
• PC skills.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
• Previous experience in an acute-care setting is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, intervene in, and evaluate care for Telemetry Unit patients.
