About The Position

The Emergency Room Registered Nurse (also referred to as an Emergency Department RN or Emergency Services RN) provides rapid, skilled care to patients seeking emergency medical attention. ER nurses deliver emergent and urgent care in the emergency department. This is a full-time, night-shift position at Dallas Medical Center in Farmers Branch, Texas, with 12-hour shifts from 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. A $20,000 sign-on bonus is available for qualified candidates; eligibility and payout terms apply, with details discussed during the interview process.

Requirements

• Current and valid state RN license.
• Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintained thereafter.
• Current ACLS certificate within 30 days of hire and maintained thereafter.
• Current PALS certificate and/or ENPC within 30 days of hire and maintained thereafter.
• Basic Arrhythmia Interpretation within 30 days of hire.
• At least one year of experience as a staff nurse RN in an acute care hospital setting; emergency room experience preferred.

Nice To Haves

• Emergency room experience.
• Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) certification.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).

Responsibilities

• Assess patients upon arrival, determine the severity of their conditions, and prioritize care according to standardized triage protocols.
• Provide direct care for a range of medical conditions and injuries, including administering medications, performing procedures such as wound care or splinting, monitoring vital signs, and managing pain.
• Assist in stabilizing patients with severe illness or trauma and initiating life-saving interventions, including ACLS, PALS, and trauma care.
• Manage high-stress and rapidly changing situations while remaining calm, focused, and decisive and caring for multiple patients, including during busy shifts or mass casualty events.
• Educate patients and families about medical conditions, treatment options, and discharge instructions.
